Santa is Magic

I love Christmas time. We have had a lot of fun this year getting ready for Christmas. It is hard to really get in the Christmas spirit when it's close to 80 degrees and humid. But we have had few days of cold weather and that is then that I get excited for Christmas. One of the fun things we did was to take Kale down town to run in the Kids' Reindeer Run. It was a 1K and he ran the whole thing with a huge smile on his face. They had a Toys for Tots drive so I thought it would be a great lesson to go have him buy a toy to donate. Well we went and bought a cool little toy and he took it and gave it to the Marines. Well Fisher Price was one of the sponsors and they had a Santa there handing out toys to the kids. (To preface Kale has wanted a kids digital camera for a while) Well after some convincing by us that if he will even go in the near vicinity to Santa that he might give him a gift he does. Santa hands him a Fisher Price kids digital camera. Kale walked away and said, "Santa is MAGIC." So we have one little boy that will at least believe another year. So much for my lesson on trying to teach him that Christmas is about giving. He may have left the race with the tingling feelings of Christmas but it was definitely from receiving not giving.
